The super castaway Robertson and his 45 days SOLO survival adventure in Siroktabe

Dec 09, 2012 · Docastaway Clients

Robertson , our Canadian hero, decided he wanted to spend 45 days completely alone on one of our remotest Indonesian desert islands: Siroktabe

Among his belongings Robertson included a machete, a tent, some fishing lines, snorkeling gear, a lighter, some plastic bags and a native wooden canoe, which was provided by Docastaway. We also provided him with a mobile phone so that we would be in permanent contact with him in case of emergency. Robertson didn’t even take one drop of water with him, or any food.

This man is a brave adventurer whose hobby is to immerse himself in the unknown Canadian mountains to practice survival. His dream has always been that one day he would do the same on a desert island to be able to feel like the real castaways felt so many centuries ago. Thanks to Docastaway Robertson has been able to make his dream come true.

Last week he sent us the pictures of his incredible experience and you can see them below.

A short description is displayed by clicking on each photo:

Is there anyway to come in contact with Ian?

Hi James.
We are very sorry, but we never show our clients contact details because we try to protect these desert islands from mass tourism. Many adventurous people tried to ask where these islands are located, and then we wouldn´t have anything else to offer to our future clients. Hope you understand our reasons. If you need further clarifications you can send me all your questions to my email address alvaro@docastaway.com

Warm Regards

Sorry Rahma. We cannot reveal this information. We should try to protect these unspoilt desert islands from mass tourism. I'm sure you understand our reasons 🙂 Thanks!

Hi John

Thanks a lot for your message

In our opinion, Siroktabe is nicer, but for longer stays it is more convenient Gambolo 🙂

A docastaway adventure has just gone onto my bucket list! So very doable from Australia with both the Phils and Indo very close by. Aussies would love this type of holiday – you should market it more here. You could get onto one of the GetAway type programs on TV – which are always looking out for something new. I would think that Australia also has some uninhabited islands that would be suitable as well. I can recommend countries like The SolomonsIslands too. Very interesting and entreprenurial. 🙂
I have always wondered about the Lakshadweep and Similian Islands which also look amazing.
