Franck & Valentine spending a week at Marooning

Jul 22, 2013 · Docastaway Clients

Here you can see the photos of the week of adventures that Franck and Valentine experienced at Marooning during January 2013. This young, French couple thoroughly enjoyed the isolation and privacy that this destination offers our clients.  This couple, who have visited French Polynesia before, told us that the marine life to be found just in front of the Marooning beach was as good as diving there, and this was only four metres from their cottage.  A family of clown fish greeted them every morning which made them decide not to catch fish with their spear gun or hooks as they wanted everything to stay just the way it was, and really they had enough food to eat.

As the rest of our clients at Marooning, they became good friends with the abandoned dog that lives on the beach there, feeding him daily, although he always kept himself at a certain distance just like ‘Two Socks’, the dog in the film ‘Dancing with Wolves’.  They also saw an iguana and some monkeys that were jumping from tree to tree. These adventurers made a bonfire almost every night.

Wow! It must have been an exhilarating experience. I have been absent from the Philippines for forty-four years now and would like to come back and relive the experience of living from scratch in isolation.

I love the way the dog is in photos year after year! We are going this coming winter and my daughter is praying the dog will still be there!
